Producing While Asian: The Podcast

It’s here!

On Wednesday, May 5, 2021, the inaugural season of Producing While Asian the podcast will launch on all major podcast streaming/downloading platforms. Here is the official description:

Producing While Asian presents conversations with producers, production staff, and recognizable personalities who identify as Asian and Asian American and/or BIPOC, or with allies who support this community. Host Don Mike Mendoza leads each interview with people he’s met since the beginning of his tenure as Executive Artistic Director of LA TI DO Productions, and also gives insights into his own projects too. The Producing While Asian podcast was created to uplift the voices and creations of the widespread AAPI community and its supporters in the arts and entertainment industry in a time when highlighting these people and projects is imperative.

We launch the season with 8 episodes - one each week in Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, then bi-weekly starting in June 2021 - and each one includes groundbreaking conversation with unique and accomplished AAPI producers and non-producers.

Here’s some of the folks you’ll hear from:

May 5: Jeppy Paraiso, Content Producer and Tita Che creator
May 12: Cori Dioquino, Baltimore Asian Pasifika Arts Collective
May 19: Tyler Ham Pong, Kill the Pig Productions
May 26: Beau Canlas and Aaron Canlas, SNRG: Some Never Really Get
June 9: Jeremiah Abraham, Tremendous Communications, Unapologetically Asian, and Yellow Rose Producer
June 23: Vishal Vaidya, Vocal Coach and Broadway Actor
July 7: Chil Kong, Adventure Theatre Company MTC
July 21: Hope Villanueva, Stage Manager and Playwright

We’d love for you to get ahead of the curve and subscribe on Apple Music, Spotify, or anywhere you listen to your favorite podcasts. Then, after hearing our first episode — or any episode — that you kindly leave a review and a rating to ensure the mystical algorithms put our show in front of all the right audiences!

This is a very exciting moment for the blog, but more importantly, an extremely essential moment in sharing the stories and accomplishments of our AAPI brothers and sisters in any industry that involves producers.

We hope you enjoy the show!
